This Course Enhances First Aid Skills. Through Classroom And Practical Application, Students Will Learn The Theories Behind The Treatment Of Minor Injuries And Illnesses.
Students learn about each of the body systems and how illness or injury might impact the ability to function and ways to stabilize the problem in order to get to a higher level of care. This class does not lead to a certification or licensure but it is a good introduction for those wanting to pursue medical careers. Upon completion, you will be in the Emergency Care & Safety Institute registry as qualified in Wilderness Advanced First Aid as well as a valuable asset to any ground team you work with.
Logistics
Lodging
This activity is conducted in "field conditions." Uniforms and equipment should be maintained for the environment and weather conditions.
Lodging includes restroom facilities. Males and females will be quartered in separately. All personnel will be supervised during their stay.

Transportation
Transportation during the activity will be provided as necessary utilizing Civil Air Patrol vehicles.
Transportation to and from this activity is not the responsibility of CAP and is provided "as available”. Limited transportation during the activity may be provided. Privately owned vehicles(POVs) traveling to or from such activity is performed solely at the risk of the individual CAP members and their passengers. CAP assumes no right of control, liability or responsibility for such transportation (reference CAPR 77-1, Operation and Maintenance of Civil Air Patrol Vehicles, para 1-8 b.).
Meals
Meals are not included in this course. Participants must arrive with enough nonperishable food items for the duration of the training.
Uniform Of The Day
- Utility Uniform ABU preferred (Corporate Field Uniform or Polo Shirt acceptible). Refer to CAPM 39-1, Uniform Manual, Ch. 5 for proper wear and instructions.
